All Round Art

The broadest meaning of art is from an old Latin meaning which is a skill or craft.  To create art that is loved is a skill, but it does come naturally to some people.  Real art is an expression of the artists feelings, their thoughts and even there observations.

Art in any form has primarily been seen as a distraction from what is going on in the world, a method of relaxing by losing yourself in something else.  But in practise many artists use art to express what is happening in the world and documenting changes, even if it is not always obvious to the viewer.  Art in it's best forms should not be judged on how it looks but on how it makes you feel.

Although art can come in many forms such as painting, sculpture, dance or writing here at All Round Art we focus on visual art that anyone can enjoy and purchase to decorate their own home for all to see.  Artworks can be categorized in many different ways the usual categorizations are modern, contemporary and antique, these are commonly used on auction sites for people to use when selling artwork.  Fine art can also be categorized by eras, such as the 15th century featuring Leonardo Da Vinci, right through to the 20th century with Piccasso and Salvador Dali.  Alternativly you could sort by style such as impressionism, pop art or surrealism.

When buying art many online art and poster shops have organised the art styles have categorized them more as decorative art, photography or vintage art, and popular categorys have been used by subject matter such as movie posters, people, places or animals.

Photography in its self can be split by styles due to the many different techniques now available such as color, black and white, sepia toned, tinted or hand colored.
